I am a fully qualified Acupuncturist and Registered General Nurse offering acupuncture treatments at the long established Synergy Healthcare Clinic on the Cregagh Road in Belfast.

Acupuncture is a system of healing which has been practised in China for thousands of years. Traditionally it is part of a holistic approach to the management of disease and maintenance of health. Its focus is on improving the overall well being of the patient rather than just treating isolated symptoms.

The body is a self repairing mechanism and any interference through the use of acupuncture or electro-acupuncture is aimed at encouraging this self healing ability. There is a deep circulation of energy uniting the inner organs and a superficial system which flows below the surface of the skin. Both the superficial energy and the deeper energy can be influenced by the stimulation of specific points on the body. This restores its natural balance and induces a feeling of well-being.

The beauty of traditional acupuncture is that it sees a person that is unwell rather than a person with a particular illness. The treatment is unique to that person at that particular moment in time.
